Notepad++ 5.9.4

Notepad++ is a free (as in "free speech" and also as in "free beer") source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages. Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GPL License.

Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.

Notepad++ 5.9.4 new features and fixed bugs:

  • Add 3 Project Panels for the management of projects
  • Doc Switcher can be sorted now.
  • Fix crash issue while printing for some printers.
  • Fix ANSI version Clipboard history entries display bug.
  • Fix wrong display of tab number setting dialog in Lang Menu/Tab settings of Preferences dialog.

It's only ever worked once for me, 99.99% of the time it says no update so I just do it manually.

haha yup I think it may have only worked once, but i'm sort of glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.

How come (and this has happened ever since I started using Notepad++, which was like a couple years go) when I go to the '?' in the software and choose update Notepad++, it always says no update... I mean I have no problem doing manual, but it's odd...

The official site says that it is RC (Release Candidate). I think that's the reason you are not seeing that an update is available through Notepadd++.
