Select movie theaters to let gamers play Uncharted 3

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is unquestionably the biggest Playstation 3 exclusive game that's due for release in 2011. Developer Naughty Dog's first two installments in its acclaimed action-adventure game series have been big hits for the PS3 console and for Sony, and now a select few gamers in the US will get a chance to play Uncharted 3 before it ships to stores on November 1.

AMC Theaters has announced that on October 18-20 a number of its movie screens will be open to let players check out the game in multiplayer tournaments and also to see the game being played on a big movie screen in full 3D. In addition, Naughty Dog team members will reveal behind-the-scenes info on Uncharted 3 and there will also be a number of giveaways and prizes during the sneak peak event. Tickets for the Uncharted 3 sneak peak are now on sale and cost $25. You can also pay for a $60 premium pass that not only gets you into the Uncharted 3 event but also nets you a free copy of the game itself. The game normally costs $60 so by getting the premium pass you are basically paying just $35 for Uncharted 3. The game will ship to these users on October 25.

The AMC movies theaters that are participating in the Uncharted 3 event are:

San Francisco: AMC Metreon 16
Los Angeles: AMC Century City 15
Washington D.C.: AMC Tyson’s Corner 16
New York City: AMC Lincoln Square 13
Dallas: AMC Northpark 15
