Yesterday, we reported that Samsung Malaysia had teased its upcoming Galaxy A5 and A7 handsets. After all, it's been over a year since the company announced the last iteration of the devices, so they're due for refreshes.
With product launches likely around the corner, a report from VTECH has confirmed the specs and prices of the phones. Along with Android 7.0 Nougat, both devices should have IP68 certification - as teased yesterday - which is the same as the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and means that they can be immersed in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
Here are the full specs for the Galaxy A5:

Unlike last year's models, the A5 and A7 this year will mostly be the same, with the exception of the Galaxy A7 being a bit bigger, and therefore having a larger battery. The processor will be 1.9GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53, which means that it will likely be the Samsung Exynos 7880, which is clocked at 1.88GHz; or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, which is clocked at up to 2GHz.
It looks like the design will be more similar to the company's flagship handsets as well. The devices will include 2.5D curved glass on the front, as well as the rear glass panels.
As for pricing, they'll cost RM1,699 (around $380 USD) and RM1,899 ($425) in Malaysia, and it's not clear just yet which other markets the handsets will be available in. Remember that direct currency conversions don't always reflect the true cost in other parts of the world, so it's best not to make any premature assumptions about pricing in other markets.
