SpywareBlaster 4.5

Spyware, adware, browser hijackers, and dialers are some of the fastest-growing threats on the Internet today. By simply browsing to a web page, you could find your computer to be the brand-new host of one of these unwanted fiends!

The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.

  • Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
  • Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
  • Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.

SpywareBlaster can help keep your system secure, without interfering with the "good side" of the web. And unlike other programs, SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background. It works alongside the programs you have to help secure your system.

What's new in this version:

  • Added Pale Moon browser support.
  • Improved support for the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox.
  • Improved support for certain non-standard user account configurations.
  • Improved installer experience on Windows Vista/7.
  • Fixed rare updating issues.
  • Numerous other bug fixes, optimizations, and tweaks.

Also, Flock browser support was removed in this release. The Flock browser is no longer actively maintained or supported by its makers.
This 4.5 release provides enhanced protection, browser support, performance, and bug fixes.

3/10 Must do better. See me after class.

I hadn't noticed that when I typed the above reply this morning, but I SWEAR this same story was on here last night.

In my reply I had mentioned that I used to use this thing, but quit using it eons ago along with Spybot. I then edited that comment by adding after having looked it over, it looked like it had been improved upon since I last used it.

Either that, or I dreamed it last night before I even went to bed!!

Hmm?

Guess the land of ANY resemblance to free speech isn't allowed here at Neowin anymore, huh?

I posted a comment on this topic last night that is mysteriously gone now. Wasn't anything bad either. In fact, I said this thing seemed to have been improved upon since I last used it.

I guess if Neowin is going to start getting that picky and restrictive, it's time to look else where for tech stories as Neowin sure ISN'T the only site on the net that covers this stuff!!
