Steep's Winter Olympics themed expansion gets a week-long open beta

Ubisoft announced a Winter Olympic Games-themed expansion for its extreme sports title, Steep, back at E3 2017. With the Road to the Olympics slated to drop early next month, the company announced today that a week-long open beta for it would begin tomorrow, running from November 28 through to December 4.

Open beta players will have access to a free-roaming region in addition to five challenges set across South Korea and Japan. A Ubisoft press release detailed the contents as follows:

Players will be able to compete in two Olympics events in the South Korea map, Downhill and Big Air, and overcome two snowboard and one wingsuit challenges in the Japan map. Players will also be able to explore and free roam in a segment of the unique Japan map.

The open beta servers will go online at 9am PT for players on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Some additional, enhanced features are also arriving exclusively for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X owners, but Ubisoft is yet to reveal what exactly these enhancements are.

The Steep Road to the Olympics expansion will cost $29.99 and releases just a day after the open beta's conclusion, on December 5.
