PC maker Xi3, who once partnered with Valve on developing its "Steam Machines" efforts, is teasing an announcement relating to its own PISTON gaming PC that will be revealed Monday.
Xi3 has now said that it made its PISTON gaming PC "specifically for Valve" but it also disagrees with Valve about Linux being the future for PC games and will ship PISTON with a Windows OS.
Valve has revealed that it is no longer involved with PC maker Xi3 and its upcoming PISTON gaming PC, despite an announcement at CES 2013 that Valve had made a financial investment in Xi3.
At a panel at SXSW, Xi3 showed off the customizable interface for its upcoming PISTON gaming PC for the first time, which lets owners of the small PC select which services launch for each menu slot.
