Symantec releases beta for Norton Security Premium 2017

The American tech company Symantec has made a beta version of Norton Security Premium 2017 available to the public. The virus protection software will be available to users during a 14-day trial period after its installation. The suite will improve upon the currently available Norton Security and Antivirus software.

Additions to the software include 'Proactive Exploit Protection', which stops harmful software or malware from targeting loopholes within the system, and compatibility with the 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. The security suite requires that all new programs be scanned in a separate space before they are installed, to ensure that they are not dangerous.

On top of the new features, Norton Security Premium 2017 comes with the usual features, such as firewall, web protection, password organization, automatic backup, regular clean-up and more. The beta has a minimal look.

In order to download the beta, a personal e-mail must be provided. Norton Security Premium is currently available for $59.99 for one year or $119.99 for two years. The current beta version is only compatible with Windows.
