TrueCrypt 6.1a

TrueCrypt is a software system for establishing and maintaining an on-the-fly-encrypted drive. On-the-fly encryption means that data are automatically encrypted or decrypted right before they are loaded or saved, without any user intervention. No data stored on an encrypted volume can be read (decrypted) without using the correct password or correct encryption key. Until decrypted, a TrueCrypt volume appears to be nothing more than a series of random numbers. The entire file system is encrypted (i.e., file names, folder names, contents of every file, and free space).

Be sure to read the EULA carefully... some Linux distros (Fedora, Gentoo, perhaps others) have ceased distributing it because some of its language is threatening both to distributors and end-users. Probably nothing for most folks to lose sleep over, but worth being aware of.

great encryption application... been using it since 2005 myself and it's really stable... never gives data corruption ;)

i already updated to 6.1a a few days ish ago.

i only use file containers though as i dont encrypt my entire system partition... so i cant comment to much on how stable that is but if it's anything like the stable-ness of file containers it's probably quite reliable.
