I have had some performance issues (random short (5-10 second) lock ups on high disk I/O operations. Windows 7 x64 host and Windows 8/Server 2012 guests. Anyone else had the same? Other guests work just fine.

Wow. The new features sound impressive. Like a web interface, Linux OpenGL and full compatibility with Windows 8. Already.

Upgraded. Really don't see a great deal of improvements at this time. Guess it is time to put this to the test and setup a new Win 8 in the sandbox.

YAY! I just bought Vmware 8.0 upgrade on Aug 6th 2012, I get a free upgrade!! Woot!

I just installed it. One new thing i've noticed immediately is, during the install you do not have to restart to finish the uninstall of the previous version, nor do you have to reboot after the upgrade is complete. You don't have to restart at all anymore! YAY!
