Warner Hatches Apple iTunes Scheme

Warner Music plans to release music albums on DVD discs that are laden with extras, including versions of the song as iTunes files.

The Wall Street Journal explains that Warner and Apple are close to reaching a deal that would make versions of songs held on a Warner DVD available as FairPlay-protected digital music files for iPod and iTunes users.

The report claims that Apple would create the tracks for Warners, which would then add them to the DVDs, which will also include videos, ring tones and images.
