Windows Server build 25267, and Datacenter: Azure Edition ISOs now available

windows server insider preview

Microsoft has released a new build of the Windows Server Insider Preview. This month's build 25267 is now available to download as an ISO from the Windows Server Insider website along with a VHDX. It contains both the (Windows 11) Desktop Experience as well as a Server Core installation option for Datacenter and the Standard edition. As per usual, there's no changelog to speak of, so it's unclear what's new in the bits that relate to Server, for a changelog of the build 25267 client go here.

Branding has not yet been updated and remains as Windows Server 2022 in the preview. In addition, Microsoft is encouraging Insiders to give feedback in the Windows Server category and then the appropriate subcategory. The company asks to indicate the build number you are providing feedback on along with the title as shown in the example below:

What's New

Windows Server Datacenter: Azure Edition preview now available for download.

Windows Server Azure Edition is a special version of Windows Server built specifically to run either as an Azure IaaS Virtual Machine (VM) in Azure or as a VM on an Azure Stack HCI cluster. Unlike the traditional Standard or Datacenter editions, Azure Edition is not licensed to run on bare metal hardware, on Windows client Hyper-V, or Windows Server Hyper-V, or run on third party hypervisors or within 3rd party Clouds. You may install this preview in a VM for testing and evaluation purposes only. When evaluating Azure Edition VMs not running on Azure Stack HCI or in Azure, you will receive expected error messages when logged into the VM, in Windows Admin Center, and in the System event log and the VM will not activate its license. The ISO may be used to test upgrade or to create your own VM images for testing.

This build does not have any known issues.
