Man version 16... Are they trying to outdo Chrome in version numbers? This is simply disgusting. Why can't they just use a sensible versioning scheme? This makes it a nightmare for local IT support.

hehe winzip! i haven't heard or seen that program for years, about nearly 10 years actually. wow. this brings fond memories of my childhood. It was the "winrar" of 1990s.

I've been using PowerArchiver for the past several years (free updates) and I really like it. I know, I could use a free solution, but I've found it works perfect for me and is less expensive for WinRAR.

Wow, WinZip? Don't think I've seen anyone who still uses this in years. 7Zip and IZarc for me (gotta love the price: Free), or WinRAR if you feel you must pay for a compression utility.

No it isn't. It may have been once. I had a fully bought and paid for license for an older Winzip that included updates for life. Then WinZip was sold to someone else (Corel?) and that was the end of my updates, and the end of my use of WinZip.

Why? Just why?

The majority of compressed files I download are RAR, so I use WinRAR exclusively for my compression needs. 7Zip works too.

That pretty much sums it up. I remember when WinZip was the de facto compression utility (back when we were used to pkzip for DOS) but it's been essentially a joke for the last 10 years.

52 mb?

My thoughts exactly. There's no reason for a compression utility to be 52 MB in size. 7zip FTW.

Yes it is included 32bit and 64bit versions.

still big for a zip extractor. 7zip is 1 mb for 32 bit and 1 mb for 64 bit.... explain me the rest of 50 mb.... and i think 7zip is better and has a lot of feature. tbh, i like winzip but its getting more crap these days... 90% of the users will right click on a zip file and extract then y make it a junk.

Yeah! You have some good points. But WinZip has a good UI which makes it attractive to many users just llike "Apple-blood money-sucking" products.
