This was released a few weeks ago, but since no other site I know of covers X-Plane I thought i would start. X-Plane is probley one of the best Flight sims made. The reality and graphics are like no other. There are hundreds of usermade planes and detailed graphics. This flight sim is about 2 years old, and has many many hours put into it. Unlike the corp. flight sims, this one is an on-going project.
Whats new in 6.05?
- Less "jiggles" of the terrain in ALL flight conditions.
- NO more major "jiggles" after long flights, no matter how long the flight.
- The Earth is VISIBLY round... you can see the curvature (BARELY!) in the 3-D map.
You can go around Earth over and over forever. This inlcudes airliners crossing the dateline and spaceships in orbit.
- Timezones and sun locations are now accurate: You can race the sun and make time go "backwards" if you fly faster than the speed of sound westbound!
- Great Circle navigation possible, and indeed the shortest distance between two points! Fly the FULL Space Shuttle re-entry and then look at the planet map for a graphic representation of this. Check out the Planet Map in the Location menu... or swith to the external circling view and zoom all the way out into space... I think you will like what you see!
