I'm gonna give this a shot. The program I have installed sucks.
I have "Any Video Converter Ultimate" and I haven't had much luck with it.
At one time I had a pretty good free program for video conversion and was excellent but can't remember the name, but I'll give this one a try.

This is a very good video converter, but the GUI can be very confusing. If you don't learn the quirks, then it's not going to work as expected.

* Each video in the list can have separate encoding settings. If you're encoding multiple videos and want each video to be encoded the same, you have to highlight all of the files in the list before changing any settings. Otherwise, you're only changing the settings for the video files that are highlighted.

* You have to set all of the settings, including the output directory, before you move forward with the jobs list.

* The jobs list is another quirk. The file list is not the list of files to be converted; the jobs list is. You can add the same video multiple times to the jobs list with different settings, but it's highly unlikely you want to do that. As before, you have to highlight all of the files in the list. Then you click Add Job, and finally press Encode.

* Make sure to set the output directory before adding videos the jobs list!

* It doesn't remember settings you changed between profiles. Even if you modified a profile in the past, it's going to load the default settings everytime you load that profile in the future.
