15.6-inch Lenovo Flex 5 unboxing and first impressions

Lenovo"s Flex 5 was announced back in May alongside a couple of other devices, including the Legion Y920 gaming laptop. The Windows 10 PC uses a 360-degree hinge (as you"d expect from something called "Flex"), so you can arrange it in a variety of form factors.

However, it lacks some of the features that the company"s Yoga lineup includes, such as a built-in pen. Also, when the display is folded all of the way back, the keys don"t retract, so you"ll still get that minor annoyance of the keys being in the way when holding it.

Still, the Flex 5 packs a bit more power, with a dedicated Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics card. The model that we were sent includes the Core i7-7500U chip, along with a 1080p 15.6-inch display. Lenovo does offer a 4K model - which undoubtedly affects battery life - and a smaller one with a 14-inch screen.
