Acer Swift 5 SF514-54T-76PY unboxing and first impressions

Announced at IFA last year, Acer"s Swift 5 claimed at the time to be the world"s lightest 14-inch laptop. With a magnesium alloy chassis, it weighs in at just 2.18 pounds, or less than a kilogram.

But it doesn"t compromise on power. It still includes an Intel Core i7-1065G7 CPU, an Ice Lake chip that includes Iris Plus Graphics. You could compare this to the premium Swift 7, which actually weighs less than two pounds, but with a much lower-powered Y-series processor. Alongside of the Ice Lake processor, this unit includes 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD.

It also comes in a rather sexy blue color, a nice touch for a magnesium alloy laptop, something that all-too-often comes in some sort of gunmetal gray color. There"s also a white variant if that"s what you"re into. You"ll also find narrow bezels around the 14-inch FHD display, adding up to an 86.4% screen-to-body ratio.

At $999, the Acer Swift 5 SF514-54T-76PY seems to hit the sweet spot. Check out the unboxing video below:
