ALi begins to ramp M1689 single chips for K8 processors

Taiwan chipset maker ALi has started mass production of its M1689 single-chip solution for the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) K8 processor lineup, including AMD Opteron, Athlon 64 and Mobile Athlon 64 processors, according to company sources. Some Taiwan first-tier motherboard makers have completed their design-in processes for the M1689, allowing the company to start volume shipments of the core-logic single chips in late August, the sources noted.

ALi also recently began volume production of its M9205 audio/video single-chip controllers for TV Boxes. In addition, the company will begin producing the M9207 next-generation AV single-chip solution by the end of the third quarter, the sources added.
