Amazon Alexa-enabled devices can now play Spotify podcasts in 11 more markets

Late last year, Spotify podcasts (along with Apple Podcasts) went live on Amazon Alexa devices. That rollout, however, was limited only in the U.S.

Today, Spotify is expanding the ability to play podcasts on Alexa-powered devices outside the U.S. The music streaming service announced today that Alexa podcast control is available in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, India, Austria, and Ireland.

The feature allows users to play their favorite podcasts just by asking their Alexa devices. To get started, they can simply open the Alexa app, go to the menu, tap on the Settings section, and then choose Music & Podcasts. After that, users can link their Spotify account to their Alexa account.

In case the music streaming service is not connected to your Alexa device, you can just tap “Link New Service” and then pick Spotify. For residents in Brazil, Mexico, Germany, or the UK, they can connect Spotify to their Alexa device by tapping “Default Services" and then electing Spotify as the default podcast service.

Once those steps are done, you can start listening to podcasts on your Echo, for example, just by using your voice. You can even pick up where you left off from your phone.
