Amazon Prime Day (it’s actually four days) may be coming next week but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until then to get a good bargain. Right now, you can pick up the Amazon Fire Max 11 Productivity Bundle which includes the Fire Max 11 tablet, a Keyboard Case, and a Made for Amazon Stylus Pen. The bundle currently costs $235.99, which is a 36% discount from the $369.97 list price - but it’s only for a limited time!
An important note to be aware of is that it mentions this is an Amazon ecosystem device and doesn’t support Google Play Store services, instead, you’ll be reliant upon the Amazon Appstore. Also, this model is the one without lock screen ads, so it’s a tad more expensive, but given the overall cost difference, it’s worth it.
The Fire Max 11 has an 11-inch display that has a resolution of 2000 x 1200 with a low blue light certification, which could be good for your sleep. Powering it is an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and it has Wi-Fi 6 support for fast streaming.
The Keyboard Case features 15 shortcut keys, two of which are customizable, and a trackpad. The Stylus Pen can be used for drawing, note-taking, and PDF markups - overall, it’s a pretty versatile piece of kit with the accessories, which really turn the tablet into something you can be productive on.
In terms of battery life, you get 14 hours of use out of the tablet, which isn’t too bad at all. Storage-wise, this model has 64GB, which, frankly is pretty modest in this day and age, but could be ideal for people who won’t be installing games that take up a lot of space. If you do need more storage, you can insert a 1TB microSD card.
The Fire Max 11 has an aluminum design with strengthened glass, which is a nice shift from Amazon’s trademark black plastic. According to Amazon, the Fire Max 11 is three times more durable than the iPad 10.9-inch (10th gen) in tumble tests. Finally, the front and back cameras are 8MP, which Amazon says is enough for clear video calls.
As a bundle geared towards productivity, Amazon has also included a three-month free trial of Microsoft 365 Personal. When that runs out, it will auto-renew at $6.99 per month, so you should be aware of that cost if you don’t cancel.
This tablet’s features make it a strong contender for students, those with light office work, or creative hobbies that value keeping costs down. The stylus and keyboard mean you can actually get some productive tasks done. When you want to kick back and relax, you can open up a streaming app or social media quickly.
It might also be a good choice for anyone who primarily uses Amazon services such as Prime Video, Kindle, or Audible as these apps are all available through the Kindle Appstore. There are also plenty of parental controls and the option to take out an Amazon Kids+ subscription, making it good for families. It also has integration with Alexa and smart home features for existing Amazon device users.
It may not be the ideal product for someone who wants access to Google Play Services. While you can likely sideload apps, it’s extra work compared to other Android tablets. Additionally, if you need to use heavier productivity apps such as image and video editors, then you may be better off going with a laptop.
