Amazon launches smarter Fire TV lineup with genAI-powered Alexa+ and more

Amazon has unveiled a major upgrade to its Fire TV lineup, with Alexa+, new accessibility features, and a range of new devices at its fall hardware event. The 2025 Fire TV family includes the flagship Omni QLED Series, the 4-Series, the more affordable 2-Series, and the new Fire TV Stick 4K Select.

Amazon"s flagship TVs, the Fire TV Omni QLED models, range from 50" to 75" and feature a 60% brighter display with double the local dimming zones of the previous generation. It also features Dolby Vision and HDR10+ Adaptive support, along with Amazon"s Omnisense technology, which utilizes sensors to adjust colors based on room lighting automatically, turns the TV on when someone enters the room, and includes dynamic art that responds to movement.

Next up is the Fire TV 4-Series, which offers crisp 4K visuals across popular screen sizes starting at 43", with a significant 30% bump in speed over past models. The value-focused Fire TV 2-Series covers essential HD streaming for screens between 32" and 40". Both series integrate Omnisense for intelligent convenience and are designed for sleek, modern aesthetic appeal with ultra-thin metal bezels.

Lastly, for those who already have a screen, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select delivers premium 4K streaming for under $40. Running on the efficient Vega OS, the stick supports HDR10+, apps that launch quickly, and will soon integrate with Xbox Gaming, Luna, and Alexa+.

Perhaps the highlight of the announcement was support for the new Alexa+, which transforms Fire TV into an entertainment expert. The generative AI-powered assistant can now suggest tailored content, find specific scenes in movies, pull highlights from live sports, and even share trivia, background info, or actor details mid-stream. Alexa+ works across major platforms like Prime Video, Netflix, HBO Max, and more, helping users quickly jump to what they want to watch, all based on conversation.

Amazon also emphasized accessibility features, with expanded support for hearing aids, a Dual Audio feature for multiple listening experiences, new tactile packaging, and a Dialogue Boost feature that raises the volume of voices without amplifying background noise.

For content discovery, Fire TV now centralizes recommendations, live TV listings, and personal watchlists. The Continue Watching row acts as a cross-platform bookmark, while a redesigned live guide shows tailored recommendations and lets users save favorites from any streaming service in a single watchlist.

All the new Fire TV models are now available for pre-order and will begin shipping next month. Prices start at $39.99 for the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, $159.99 for the basic Fire TV 2-Series, $329.99 for the Fire TV 4-Series, and $479.99 for the Fire TV Omni QLED series. Alexa+ is available on all new TVs and select third-party Fire TV devices.
