AMD's 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X reaches all-time low price

Those who want to build a new computer based on AMD"s latest AM5 platform can check out the Ryzen 9 9900X processor, a 12-core, 24-thread chip, which is now available on Amazon at a new all-time low price of just $354.86, saving you $144 off the launch price of $499.

The Ryzen 9 9900X is one of AMD"s latest AM5 desktop processors. This beefy chip offers 12 cores with simultaneous multithreading (SMT), totalling 24 threads. It has 72 MB of level-3 (L3) cache, and a maximum speed of 5.6 GHz (base clock is 4.4 GHz). If that is not enough for your workloads and you have powerful cooling, you can overclock the Ryzen 9 9900X beyond its stock speeds.

The Ryzen 9 9900X works with AM5 motherboards (A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, X870, B840, B850), DDR5 memory (DDR5-5600), and PCIe Gen5 connectivity with a total of 24 usable lanes for graphics cards, solid-state drives, and more. It has a default TDP of 120 W. Unlike older Ryzen processors for the AM4 platform, the Ryzen 9 9900X has built-in graphics. The two-core Radeon Graphics is not particularly powerful, and it cannot rival even low-end GPUs, but it has plenty of juice to do multimedia tasks, output the image to your monitor, and more.
