Apple is busy making strides on the creative front by doing whatever it can. Earlier this year, the Cupertino giant launched Apple Creator Studio, an all-in-one subscription bundle for $12.99/mo that combines all of its creative apps, plus some extra perks and intelligent features.
In the latest, Apple has added MotionVFX to its shopping bag. The Poland-based company is known for creating plugins, templates, transitions, and visual effects for Apple"s Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, and some other professional apps.
Headquartered in Warsaw, the software company was founded by Szymon Masiak back in 2009. MotionVFX announced the update on its website that it"s joining Apple and stated:
We are extremely excited to share that MotionVFX is joining the Apple team to continue to empower creators and editors to do their best work.
For over 15 years, we’ve been on a mission to create world-class, visually inspiring content and effects for video editors. From the very beginning, we’ve been all about quality, ease of use, and great design. These are also the values that we admire most in Apple’s products, and we’re thrilled to be able to embrace them together.
MotionVFX hasn"t said anything about what will happen to its existing catalog of products currently offered through its website, which includes subscriptions for motion design elements, templates, mCaptionsAI, and collections designed in collaboration with popular YouTubers.
Apple unveiled the next-gen AirPods Max 2 on its website, but it appears the company hasn"t made any direct announcement about the acquisition and its motivation behind the move. However, in one possibility, Apple"s promise to offer premium content for creators through Apple Creator Studio can benefit from MotionVFX"s extensive catalog.
This is the second acquisition from the iPhone-maker in recent months. It was reported earlier this year that Apple acquired the Israeli startup, q.ai, which develops machine learning technologies for audio and speech recognition. It was Apple"s second-largest acquisition to date.
Speaking of creative apps, Apple acquired the image editing app, Pixelmator, back in 2024. Apple discontinued the legacy Pixelmator app for iOS and launched a new Pixelmator Pro for iPadOS, which is offered as part of Apple Creator Studio.
