Greg Joswiak, Apple"s Senior Vice President of Marketing, uploaded a teaser of a powerful new Apple product on the horizon, which is potentially the highly anticipated M5 MacBook Pro. In the teaser, the MacBook can be seen in a V shape, which is also the Roman number 5, indicating the fifth generation of Apple silicon.

While Joswiak didn"t share anything more about the device, there are no major design changes anticipated for the M5 MacBook Pro when compared to its predecessor.
A report last year by renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the new MacBook Pro devices would be equipped with a new compact camera module (CCM) made by Sunny Optical.
According to a new report by Apple Insider, the upcoming MacBook Pro could offer a significant performance boost without major design changes, retaining its mini-LED display and port setup while focusing on enhancing graphical power and processing efficiency.
The same report states that Apple plans to roll out the higher-end M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models in spring 2026. The company will likely leverage TSMC"s advanced packaging technology to separate CPU and GPU components, enabling better performance scaling and potentially increasing GPU core counts.
On the other hand, Apple"s desktop lineup, which includes the Mac mini, Mac Studio, and the iMac, will undergo M5 chip upgrades by mid-2026, aligning with macOS Tahoe 26.4’s anticipated release.
While the MacBook Pro will likely retain its predecessor"s existing chassis, performance boosts in both CPU and GPU fronts should make fans happy, as the fifth generation of Apple silicon has certainly raised a lot of expectations. For power users, however, it"s better to wait a few months longer for Apple to launch the M5 Pro and M5 Max series devices, which would further enhance performance upgrades.
