Apple launches fifth beta of iOS 7 to developers

It was looking like Apple was planning to launch a fifth beta for iOS 7 sometime this week, and today that prediction came true. Apple has now released the latest beta build of its next mobile OS to developers.

9to5Mac.com states that officially, the change notes for the fifth iOS 7 beta contain unnamed "bug fixes and improvements". There is one interesting change which will allow most iOS 7 devices "to set up an Apple TV after restoring or resetting all settings."

It"s more than likely that Apple will launch at least one more beta, if not more, for the OS before it signs off on the final version. iOS 7 was officially introduced in June at WWDC. with Apple showing off a revamped UI that has flatter icons, as shown in the screenshot above.

Apple is expected to release iOS 7 sometime in September for current iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners. It is also expected to be included out of the box in new iPhone and iPad products that Apple has still not officially announced. One of those new products could be an cheaper iPhone with a case made out of plastic, which is being called the iPhone 5C.
