Apple software update round-up

Apple have been busy in the past twenty-four hours, releasing minor updates to several products including iLife, and the iPhone SDK as well as a firmware update for their wireless keyboards.

iLife Support 9.0.4

iLife Support 9.0.4 updates the shared components of the iLife suite, including iPhoto, Garageband, iWeb, iPhotom iMovie and iDVD. It also provides compatibility with the recently released Aperture 3. The update is provided through Software Update on computers running the latest version of iLife.

Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Pack

The Digital Camera RAW compatibility pack adds RAW support for several digital cameras to iPhoto and Apeture 3 including updates for:

  • Canon Powershot S90
  • Canon sRAW
  • Canon mRAW
  • Leica D-LUX 4
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3

This update is available from Apple"s Support Downloads site.

2009 Aluminium Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0

Apple have responded to recurring complaints regarding battery life on their newer 2009 wireless keyboard models. Users have complained that battery life is below-par when other bluetooth devices such as Apple"s Magic Mouse or iPhone are used in conjunction with the keyboard.

The download is available from Apple"s Support Download site.

iPhone 3.2 SDK beta 2

Despite being named the iPhone SDK, firmware version 3.2 is currently only used on the iPad. Beta 1 of the SDK was released after the iPad"s announcement in January. Beta 2 reportedly includes support for the recently released iPhone OS 3.1.3 and incorporates changes to Mobile Safari"s bookmarks menu.

The SDK is only available to paid members of the iPhone Developer Connection from Apple"s Developer Center.
