Apple is in the midst of a full transformation of its Mac lineup. It started last November when the firm introduced its first laptops that use its custom ARM chips. But with new silicon, the company also has some product redesigns planned. We"re already expecting a new look for the MacBook Air, but according to a new report from leakster Jon Prosser, Apple is modernizing the iMac while taking it back to its roots.
Just like the classic 1998 iMac, Apple is reportedly planning to make its new iMac in a variety of colors, and as you can see in the mock-up above, they"re going to be the same colors as the iPad Air, including the newer green and blue variants.
In fact, if the renders are accurate, it really seems like the new iMac is looking a lot like a giant iPad.
Other than the design, there"s nothing new in the report. There"s no new information on whether this is going to be an Intel product or an Apple Silicon PC, or about advancements in Apple"s custom processors to support a more pro-sumer market that are lacking in the current M1.
But that"s not all, because there was another Mac leak in the report. Apparently, there"s going to be a Mac Pro mini. It"s described as three to four Mac minis stacked on top of each other. Not much else is known, including final branding.
As for when we"ll actually see these new Macs, Apple will be releasing them this year.
