BATorrent is a lightweight, open-source BitTorrent client built with modern C++ and Qt 6, offering a clean, fast, and privacy-focused alternative to traditional torrent apps. It supports magnet links, .torrent files, resume data, sequential downloading, per-file priorities, and even imports from qBittorrent. Power users benefit from integrated RSS auto-download with regex filtering, duplicate detection, and automatic tracker lists from Stremio. Streaming is seamless thanks to auto-detected players like VLC and IINA.
BATorrent includes robust VPN tools—interface binding, auto-detection for WireGuard-based services like Mullvad and NordLynx, kill switch, proxy support, and IP filtering. A full WebUI enables remote control, while integrations with Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby automate library updates. With themes, speed scheduling, system-tray alerts, and cross-platform support for Windows, Linux, and macOS, BATorrent delivers a polished, high-performance torrenting experience.

BATorrent 2.4.2 changelog:
What"s new:
Completed state
- Torrents now have a dedicated "Completed" state, separate from Seeding and shown in green. Once a download hits 100%, you can mark it as completed using the new Stop button in the toolbar or via right-click. Completed torrents are frozen — they stop seeding and stay clearly labeled until you decide to resume them. Everything persists across restarts, so your completed list survives a relaunch.
Auto-complete after N days
- You can now tell BAT-Torrent to automatically mark torrents as Completed after a set seeding period — 1, 3, 7, 14, or 30 days. Configure it under Settings → Speed. Set it once and forget it.
"Completed" filter
- A new filter in the toolbar lets you view only your completed torrents at a glance, alongside the existing Downloading, Seeding, Paused, and Finished filters.
What"s fixed:
Theme switching now works properly
- Switching themes previously left several parts of the UI stuck on the startup colors — the toolbar, filter bar, details panel, and system dialogs all now update correctly when you change the theme.
Dialogs looked broken in light mode
- Several dialogs had a visible black streak running through their background in light mode. That"s gone.
Brief flash on startup
- The app briefly showed an empty screen for about a second before loading your torrent list. It now jumps straight to the right view on launch.
Logo was invisible in light mode
- The app logo disappeared on light backgrounds across the toolbar, tray popup, and welcome screen. It"s now properly visible in all themes.
Improvements:
Refreshed light theme
- The light theme has been reworked from plain white to a warmer cream and beige palette, with softer borders and a more comfortable feel overall.
Cleaner dark theme
- The dark theme"s panel colors have been brought into better alignment with the rest of the UI — no more subtle color mismatches on the details panel.
