Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's massive Fallout crossover lands with Ghouls, Deathclaws, more

Treyarch and its support teams are delivering the first mid-season update of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 tomorrow, January 8, and alongside all the maps, modes, challenges, and other content, a massive Fallout crossover has landed for the shooter. The Fallout content is mostly focused on adding recognizable features from the hit television series, including skins from the protagonists, but special game modes, world events, and more inspired by the series are here too.

Starting with the Endgame world events, players can wade into a Fallout-inspired wasteland in Avalon that has just been hit with a bomb blast. This is where they will run into a full-fledged Deathclaw and plenty of Feral Ghouls.

Over in multiplayer, Vault Town has landed as a map variant of 6v6 Nuketown featuring plenty of props from the Bethesda franchise.

"Drop into the suburbs of the future in this Nuketown map variant bringing the retro-apocalyptic setting of Fallout to the iconic cul-de-sac," says the developer. "Sponsored by the Vault-Tec Corporation, Vault Town features special air purifiers removing all the dangerous particles one would normally breathe throughout the Wasteland, allowing residents to enjoy the fruits of classic suburban living."

Two limited-time modes have also been added to multiplayer. This involves the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Mayhem mode that blankets maps with radiation while also giving power-ups when killing players, including series favorites like Jet, Psycho, RadAway, and Nuka-Cola. Next, the Ghouls mode is a 24-player twist on the Infected mode that turns players into feral ghouls, while normal players gain iconic Fallout upgrades.

For Zombies fans, Feral Ghouls and Deathclaws have also invaded the Ashes of the Damned and Astra Malorum maps. Radiation is also a new threat survivors have to deal with as the rounds progress.

Finally, Call of Duty: Warzone players can use Power Armor inside battle royales. This involves dropping into trios, collecting enough Fusion Core canisters to power a suit, and finally stepping into one to take out opponents using the "huge health boost, jetpack thrusters, upgraded weaponry, and the ability to eject and detonate the suit when it’s time to get out."

Aside from the Fallout crossover content, the complete Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 mid-season update carries even more maps, including two remasters, a Zombies map, and Warzone content. Find all the details here.
