Last year, Dell surprised everyone by introducing a new branding for its laptop lineup. As part of the rebranding, the popular and much-loved XPS branding was discontinued. Based on feedback from the market, Dell acknowledged their mistake today at CES 2026 and announced that they are bringing back the XPS branding with the new XPS 14 and XPS 16.
Dell claims that these new XPS laptops are rebuilt from the ground up to feature a new industrial design, improved performance, new displays, and great battery life. Both the XPS 14 and XPS 16 are built using CNC aluminum and Gorilla Glass for a refined, minimalistic design. Also, for the first time, the XPS logo is now placed on the front cover, replacing the usual Dell logo.
Based on feedback, Dell is also bringing back the usual function row for tactile feedback, replacing the capacitive ones. In order to visually highlight the touchpad, there is a subtle etching around the active area of the glass touchpad. Dell has also improved key travel and tactile feedback for a faster typing experience.

Additional configurations, including more affordable options, will be available in February. Both models will be available in a Shimmer color option later this year.
The return of the XPS branding indicates Dell"s commitment to listening to user feedback. With the reintroduction of physical function keys and a focus on repairability, the XPS 14 and 16 may reclaim their spot as top-tier choices for power users in 2026.
