Crucial P310 2280 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD has never been cheaper

If you’re upgrading your storage and are looking at getting an NVMe SSD, the Crucial P310 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe SSD can be your go-to storage boost. Right now, you can grab it for just $60 (purchase link down below).

Under the hood, the P310 is built on PCIe Gen4 × 4 lanes and NVMe 1.4 drivers to hit up to 7100 MB/s sequential read and 6000 MB/s sequential write speeds that should shave minutes off game loads and file transfers. Its random I/O throughput checks in at 1 million K IOPS read and 1 million K IOPS write.

The P310 is DRAM-less but uses Micron’s in-house controller and a Host Memory Buffer (HMB) to tap into system DRAM in order to sustain peak write performance without throttling. This buffer cache is meant to improve write caching and random access times with quicker metadata look-ups.

For set-up and firmware updates as well as health monitoring (SMART), download and install Crucial’s Storage Executive software. And for cloning, Acronis software can be used.

The main drawback of the drive is its rated endurance of 220 TBW since it is a QLC (quad level cell) NAND flash SSD. So if you are looking for a device that will be tasked to daily sustained reads and writes for long hours this is not ideal.

The key technical specifications of the Crucial P310 are given below:

  • Single-sided M.2 2280 SSD
  • NAND Memory: 232-layer QLC (3D) NAND by Micron
  • Controller: Phison PS5027-E27T
