High capacity drives are absolutely crucial for backing up data and this is a solid state drive (SSD) so that means whenever you"d need to transfer files, it will be done in a breeze, that is compared to an external HDD, which, even the most expensive models are nowwhere near as fast this X10.

The X10’s rated sequential read speed is up to 2100  MB/s, with sequential writes up to 2,000 MB/s. The speeds are made possible as it connects over USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20 Gbps) via a USB‑C interface, so you’ll want a host port that supports the same standard to see its full performance potential. It is backwards compatible, but you will lose half the speed or more, depending on how far back you go.

Those speed figures are roughly double the throughput of Crucial’s previous‑generation portable SSDs, and they’re enabled by Micron’s QLC NAND flash and a single‑ASIC SM2322 controller-based design that reduces internal component count. Overall this is a great drive that can be used for backups and lots of ocassional fast tranfers, though it is not recommended as something like a external gaming drive as it is QLC and thus its endurance rating is lower compared to those based on TLC.
