The Epic Games Store"s daily freebie offer just went through a refresh, and to replace yesterday"s Disco Elysium - The Final Cut freebie landed We Were Here Together. PC gamers can grab this newest cooperative drop and keep it forever if they claim it before the next freebie appears tomorrow, December 27.
Developed by Total Mayhem Games, We Were Here Together released in 2019 as the third game in the franchise after We Were Here and We Were Here Too. Continuing the series" cooperative puzzle-solving nature, the game has two players communicating and collaborating to go through various challenges in and around Castle Rock.
A pair of walkie-talkies is how players communicate, as levels can split the duo apart to make them solve different parts of the same puzzle, with both needing to help each other complete their half of the level.
"It all begins with an emergency flare lighting up the sky and a distress call waking you from uneasy dreams," says the developer, explaining the setting. "Your fellow Antarctic explorers are in trouble, and the two of you left at base camp must work together to launch a rescue mission. If only you knew what you were getting into…"
We Were Here Together is free to claim on the Epic Games Store for the next 24 hours. As the special holiday promotion continues, Epic Games is keeping the identity of all upcoming freebies a secret until they go live. The upcoming mystery freebie will reveal itself and unlock for all PC gamers at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, December 27.
So far, the store"s offer has given away Hogwarts Legacy, Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, Eternights, Blood West, Sorry We"re Closed, Paradise Killer, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, The Callisto Protocol, and Disco Elysium - The Final Cut to keep for PC gamers. The event is set to run until December 31 with a fresh giveaway every day.
