Full Metal Schoolgirl throws cyborg students into a corporate death trap this October

D3Publisher (D3P) has just announced Full Metal Schoolgirl for release on October 23 for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. D3P has a history of releasing over-the-top anime-inspired action games and this new title fits that niche nicely.

In Full Metal Schoolgirl, the player will play as machine girls “armed and mechanized from head to toe” to fight against an exploitative corporation called Meternal Jobz - an evil company that runs Japan in the near future.

In this non-stop shooter-slasher game, the player has to advance to the top of a 100-story skyscraper. Preventing an easy passage to the top are the working dead - corporate slaves that have been turned into cyborgs and made to continue working even after their deaths. Each floor is also littered with security systems and traps that change each time you try to advance so the game naturally entails lots of trial and error to reach the top.

As you progress through the floors, you’ll be able to unlock over 100 different weapon types including Gatling guns, shotguns, chainsaws, and blades. You’re also able to progress your character by obtaining modification programs, also known as MODs. You will be able to acquire materials and rewards from defeated enemies to enhance the performance of your character.

Another element to this game that makes it feel even more dystopian is that your character will be live streaming events in the game, which earns you money to improve your character. It’ll be important to skill up your character enough so that you can defeat the president of Meternal Jobz at the top of the skyscraper.

It’s also worth noting that if you get a game over, you’ll lose your weapons and equipment and will have to start all over again from the first floor.

“You there! Have you ever wanted to become a machine? Have you ever wanted to be reborn as a cute, lively girl? Have you ever wanted to become a famous streamer and make money? Have you ever been dissatisfied with your company and wanted to cause a ruckus at the office or factory? I’m sure you have, right? Full Metal Schoolgirl will make all your wishes come true,” says Nobuyuki Okajima, Producer, Full Metal Schoolgirl.

PlayStation said pre-orders for the game will open on July 2. If you want it, there will also be a Deluxe Edition which includes the main game and DLCs such as costumes and accessories for the characters.

Early purchasers of the Deluxe Edition will also receive bonuses like the Akemi Costume: Saki’s Battle Suit from OneeChanbara Origin and Ryoko Costume: Aya’s Battle Suit from OneeChanbara Origin. If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition before the release date, you’ll also get the accessory Furball in three color varieties and “Now I’m Pissed Cat” in three color varieties.

Finally, if you’re buying on PlayStation, then you’ll get a 10% discount if you’re a PlayStation Plus member. The Standard Edition will cost you $49.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs $64.99.
