Gallery: Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074

Microsoft has released a new build of Windows 10, 10074, and we have it installed to get a closer look at the new features. This build is installed on a Surface 3 but we did have one small hiccup during the install where it hung while restarting - but a quick reboot fixed the issue.

In this build, the biggest change is that Cortana is now integrated into the Start menu and is a much more refined experience than the separate window in the previous build. There are app interface updates, the sound profiles are new and the polish of the OS is slowly improving.

In our limited use, we have not had any major performance issues but we will let you know if we run into any show stopping bugs. Neowin"s senior European editor, Andy Weir, did experience a few issues with his Start screen after upgrading to the new build, though:

As always, you should not install this release on a daily driver until it is known how it performs in the real world.

So, for those of you who want a closer look at the OS, check out the gallery below and as we get more time to play with this release, we will focus in on what"s new in upcoming spotlight articles.
