As we know, Microsoft has been trying really hard to get enterprise customers to use Copilot in their daily workflows. To that end, it has been encouraging IT admins to enable web search in Microsoft 365 Copilot, and has endorsed the use of a personal Copilot license in workplace environments too. Now, Google is ready to challenge Microsoft in this space through Gemini Enterprise.
As the name suggests, Gemini Enterprise is basically a version of the Gemini assistant that"s intended for organizational use. Google says that it"s much more than a simple chatbot and is actually a conversational platform to make workflows more productive. The main way that the company differentiates between a "simple chatbot" and a "conversational platform" is that the latter is grounded in your enterprise data, just like Microsoft 365 Copilot.
It enables workers to interact with their company"s files, data, and apps in a conversational manner. In addition, it also empowers employees to build and deploy agents that are grounded within organizational infrastructure. Google has emphasized that many of its customers are already using Gemini-powered tools in their enterprise environments. Over 50% of all new code is also generated by AI, leaving just the validation part to engineers.
Gemini Enterprise is being positioned as a full-stack solution for cloud customers. It is powered by the latest hardware from Nvidia, as well as its own Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). Google has also touted its Nobel Prize-winning research teams, the strong competency and accuracy of its Gemini models, and AI integrations with its own products. Gemini Enterprise for large organizations will cost $30/user/month, while smaller businesses have the option to pay for Gemini Business, which comes in at $21/user/month.
