Google's Qaya is a storefront for creators and it's now in beta

Google has announced that it’s launching a new service called Qaya today, in beta, for people in the United States. Qaya is a storefront for creators who want to sell products and services directly to their audiences and was developed inside Google’s Area 120 incubator. With content creators coming online every day, Google’s Qaya could help connect them to their audiences in new ways which could help them make money too.

With Qaya, content creators can sell a whole range of products and services including “trapeze workout guides to wellness training videos, photo filters, beat packs, ASMR read-alouds, productivity templates, knitting patterns and much more”. To give creators flexibility, Qaya allows you to offer your content for free or paid with tips and subscriptions. Google said it’s adding more monetisation types soon.

Through Qaya, Google allows creators to select easy-to-remember custom URLs and it allows them to link all their social media channels for added discoverability. Additionally, creators get access to customer management and analytics tools to better understand how well products and services sell among their audiences.

Tightening its integration with other Google services, Qaya enables creators to link their YouTube Merch Shelf. If you are a YouTube Partner, you’ll also be able to list your Qaya products directly below YouTube videos for added exposure.

For the time being, Google’s focus for Qaya is the United States market but it hopes to expand to more countries soon. If you’d like to learn more and sign-up for the beta, be sure to head over to the Qaya website and fill in the form that’s available there.
