Towards the end of each month, Microsoft typically details all the new features that it added to Excel, Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot in the past four weeks. While it did publish write-ups for the former two pieces of software in November, Microsoft 365 Copilot was curiously absent. Now, the Redmond tech giant has released a combo change log covering both November and December 2025. As usual, the list of features is divided into two categories: user and admin.
User capabilities
Work IQ, the intelligence layer that powers the personalization features of Microsoft 365 Copilot, is getting even better with the ability to recall memories from past conversations. This feature is rolling out this month. Microsoft has also made improvements to the quality of responses generated by Copilot Chat, with the service now experiencing 3x more thumbs-up over the past six months. Additionally, agents created with Agent Builder can now generate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint content while declarative agents are gaining the ability to interpret and ground responses using images embedded in Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files this month.
Importantly, the Microsoft 365 Copilot app received a bunch of UX enhancements recently, including more intuitive navigation, glance cards, integration of Copilot Chat conversations in Copilot Search results, AI views, and dynamic text filters in Copilot Search. Some other enhancements rolled out in the past few weeks include:
- Suggested references, student access, and OneNote availability for Copilot Notebooks
- Unified experience, Entra authentication, agent update, and more for Copilot in Teams
- Formula completion and Agent Mode in Excel
- Explanations and image editing for Copilot in PowerPoint
- Agent Mode in Word
- New agents available
Admin capabilities
On the admin side of things, Microsoft 365 Copilot received a bunch of benchmarking and reporting tools. This includes the ability to export Copilot Dashboard data as a CSV file, leverage Copilot Analytics endpoints now available in Microsoft Graph API, understand how Copilot usage relates to employee engagement through the Copilot employee experience report, track Copilot adoption, and benchmark it against internal and external metrics.
On the security front, Microsoft Purview unified audit logs will soon include all agent-related admin activities in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Additionally, organizational messages are being enhanced through support for email and action segments.
That said, this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the new capabilities introduced in Microsoft 365 Copilot recently. To get the full rundown, head over to Microsoft"s lengthy blog post here.
