Huawei to roll out EMUI 10.1 to older devices this month

Back in March, Huawei introduced the P40 series, and the handsets come with the latest version of Huawei"s flavor of Android, EMUI 10.1. Obviously, EMUI 10.1 is coming to some older handsets as well, and the company today detailed their plans.

Here"s the full list of handsets that should see the rollout later this month:

Huawei
P30 P30 Pro Mate 20 Mate 30 Pro Mate XS nove 7i
Mate 20 X Mate 20 X 5G nova 5T Porsche Design Mate 20 RS P40 Lite Mate 30
Mate 30 Pro Mate 30 Pro 5G MatePad Pro MediaPad M6 10.8
Honor
View30 Pro 20 20 Pro View20

Honor devices actually use something similar to EMUI called Magic UI, and the version rolling out to those devices is 3.1.

Of course, the update comes with new features. The more vibrant always-on display introduced in EMUI 10 is being improved with a 3D Rendered AoD. The availability of this feature will depend on your device. Sadly, the AoD is still exclusive to phones with AMOLED displays.

Huawei is also introducing its MeeTime video calling service as it continues to rely less on American technologies and services like Google Duo, Skype, and so on. Users can video chat with other Huawei devices, and it also offers features like screen sharing and the ability to use an external camera. It"s available first in China, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa, with more countries on the way.

Huawei also has a new voice assistant called Celia, which is available in English, French, and Spanish. It will first be rolled out to the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro in the UK, France, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, and South Africa.
