Invites for the Xbox One Anniversary Update preview are rolling out

Microsoft has begun rolling out invitations to members of the Xbox One Preview Program. The invitations are to try out the Anniversary Update, which is slated to arrive for everyone in July.

The invitations are expected, as Mike Ybarra tweeted yesterday that the next preview build would arrive soon. He did say, however, that this build won"t have all of the features that will be in the Anniversary Update. In fact, it"s likely that the firm is saving some goodies for E3.

The lucky few to receive an invitation today will be those that have the most points. In other words, those that filled out the most surveys and completed the most quests are being rewarded.

Meanwhile, Preview members, check your Live messages! Those w/the most points after the last wave have a fun message waiting for them. ;)

Of course, the new build isn"t available just yet, even to those that were invited. It"s likely that users will have to sit on a "pending" status for a few days like when Microsoft first rolled out The New Xbox Experience preview.

There"s currently no word on when those that opted into Dev Mode will get a new build, as those users have been sitting on build 14290 since Microsoft"s Build 2016 developer conference.

Nevertheless, if you"re on the Xbox One Preview Program, you should be checking your Xbox Live messages right now. Even if the invitation isn"t there just yet, it"s coming.
