Looking to expand your smart home? The Amazon Echo Show hit its lowest price in the UK

If you’re living in the UK and want to pick up a new smart home gadget, then you should check out the latest generation of the Amazon Echo Show 8, which has been reduced by 26% from £179.99 to just £134. If the 8.7-inch display is not big enough for you, then you can opt for the Amazon Echo Show 11, which has an 11-inch display; this model is available for £159, down 28% from £219.99. With the Amazon Echo Show 8, you get an 8.7-inch HD touchscreen with a 1340 x 800 HD resolution whereas on the Echo Show 11, you get a 1920 x 1200 Full HD resolution. Amazon notes that the Echo Show 8’s display is vibrant with 15% more viewing areas compared to the 2023 edition of the device.

Both models include a built-in smart home hub, powered by the AZ3 Pro chip for “powerful” performance, and Omnisense technology for more personalised experiences. With the built-in Alexa AI, you can pull up recipes and calendars at a glance to find meal inspiration and manage shopping lists.

As a smart home hub, you can pair and control thousands of different devices that work with Alexa without needing a separate hub. From this control centre, you can manage lights, thermostats, and more using the display or your voice. With Omnisense technology (ambient AI for better contextual awareness), you can create routines via temperature or presence detection.

If you are not too big on the whole smart home thing, you can use this device for video calls. Amazon says that video calls on the Echo Show feel natural with “a centred, auto-framing camera, 3.3x zoom, and noise reduction technology.” It also comes with a live view so you can check on your family and pets while you are away. Amazon also mentions that the audio on the Echo Show produces clear vocals, deep bass, and spatial audio.
