Another game has become a freebie on the Epic Games Store, continuing the PC games store"s giveaway promotion. Today"s offer has taken over last week"s double giveaway that brought two Styx games to keep, and this time, you can grab Rustler - Grand Theft Horse. As usual, you have seven days to add the two games permanently to your Epic Games Store library.
Released in 2021 and developed by Jutsu Games, the title lands as a parody of classic action games like Grand Theft Auto (the early ones). You take the role of a medieval thug in an open-world environment that throws as many pop-culture references as it can at the player.
Touted as being set in a historically inaccurate medieval time, players can go through bizarre questlines, drift with horse carts, get towed for parking in "no horse zones," engage in cage fighting tournaments, and dig up dinosaur skeletons, all in a day"s work. There is even a bard system to offer in-game traveling music, and to change the song being performed, simply punch the bard in question, radio style.
"Complete a wide variety of twisted missions and quests, or don’t give a damn about the plot and bring mayhem in the villages and cities," says the developer, describing what"s possible. "Choose to go on foot, or by a stolen horse. Fight with a sword or pick a fancy automatic crossbow. All that, spiced up with an inappropriate Monty Python inspired sense of humor."
The Rustler - Grand Theft Horse giveaway is now live on the Epic Games Store. PC gamers can add the title to their library for no cost during the seven-day timeframe before the next freebie arrives, which is slated to happen on January 29.
