Micromax draws inspiration from LG, reveals Canvas Infinity smartphone with 18:9 display

What you see above might look like an LG Q6 but it is, in fact, the latest device from Micromax, dubbed the Canvas Infinity. Beyond its similar looks, the device offers a 5.7-inch 18:9 display with narrow bezels and rounded edges and is powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor. The handset will also have 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage with microSD expansion.

The smartphone packs a 13MP camera on the rear with an f2.0 aperture, along with a 16MP front-facing camera. It will have a 2900mAh battery and will arrive with Google"s Android Nougat. It will make its retail debut on Amazon India on September 1 and will be priced at 9999 INR which is about $155. Unfortunately, it is unknown if the new handset will make it to other regions, but judging from past devices this is highly unlikely. If interested, third-party retailers would probably be your best bet.

While it does share similar specifications and looks with the Q6, it is priced quite a bit less. It will be interesting to see which handset proves to be more popular in India and if a similar design and cheaper price will give Micromax an edge.
