Microsoft and Best Buy hosting Windows Phone developer events

With the launch of the Nokia Lumia 900 just days away, Microsoft wants to get more developers and IT workers familiar with Windows Phone in general. Today, it was revealed that Microsoft is teaming up with Best Buy to hold a series of events in Best Buy stores across the nation throughout April and May.

The events are titled "Behind the Tiles with Windows Phone" and will offer attendees a chance to attend sessions about Windows Phone development and get some hands-on time with some hardware, including the soon-to-launch Nokia Lumia 900. In fact, it looks like at least one Lumia 900 will be given away at these events along with other prizes. Oh, and there will also be food and drinks, which never hurts.

AnythingbutiPhone.com states that registration for the event is free, but that space is limited. Keep in mind that these events are not really designed for consumers but for the development crowd. You can register on the Behind The Tiles site, where you can also see a list of all the Best Buy store locations that will be hosting these events, along with the dates. When you do register, you will need to put in the code "MVP" in the RSVP Code box.
