Microsoft announces WP7 launch event for October 11th with T-Mobile

While Neowin uncovered a few days back that Microsoft would be unveiling Windows Phone 7 on October 11th in New York, any doubts about the event can now be put to bed.  Microsoft has officially posted up on their website details that confirm the October 11th event and details out the events agenda.  

The event will be held from 3-4:30PM at the NYC Microsoft Technology Center, and according to the the announcement also confirms that T-Mobile will be a launch partner.  The announcement states "enjoy light snacks, beer and wine while you get hands on for an exclusive showing of T-Mobile powered Windows Phone 7 devices and an early preview of some of our applications that will be available for launch".

Microsoft recently released the final build of Windows Phone 7 to manufacturing and claimed the company is "ready". Terry Myerson, Microsoft"s Corporate Vice President of Windows Phone engineering said the company is just getting started. "This has been one of the most incredible product development efforts I’ve ever been a part of" said Myerson. Microsoft workers celebrated the RTM news with an iPhone and BlackBerry funeral at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond.
