Microsoft"s recent improvements to Azure services include full support for version 1.2 of the deep-learning framework PyTorch, handwritten and mixed mode recognition for Azure Forms Recognizer, and the acquisition of software firm Movere to streamline customers" journey to the cloud.
Last month, the tech giant also unveiled new cloud regions in Switzerland. Today, Germany will be getting a taste of the same, with the introduction of cloud datacenter regions along with intelligent cloud services.
In addition to gaining an extensively secure structure, customers will also be able to utilize the Redmond firm"s Office 365 and Dynamics 365 suite of services, and the Power Platform. Microsoft notes that the new regions assist it in the path towards highly scalable and resilient cloud services. It also highlighted its attention toward privacy requirements expressed through a substantial amount of compliance certifications.
With regards to Germany, the new regions offer specific compliance obligations, such as in the form of Cloud Computing Compliance Controls Catalogue (C5) attestation. Through these, Microsoft hopes to address the growing demand for adoption of cloud tech, especially since the introduction of GDPR stipulations. Specific German firms will benefit from the latest solutions in various ways as Microsoft"s customers, described by tech giant as follows:
- Deutsche Bank, Germany’s leading bank, is leveraging our cloud services to accelerate the innovation of financial products and services while maintaining high-quality service and data security. With our collaboration, Deutsche Bank has developed a data platform that meets both international and local regulatory requirements while offering customers secure and cost-efficient services.
- Deutsche Telekom, one of the world"s leading integrated telecommunications companies, will play an integral role in onboarding customers to our new cloud regions in Germany.
- SAP, the market leader in enterprise application software, will combine Microsoft Azure and SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud to provide solutions directly from Germany—for the "Intelligent Enterprise in the Intelligent Cloud."
- Arvato Systems, a global IT specialist and multi-cloud service provider, is now able to offer their customers fully integrated Azure services with data retention in Germany, empowering the digital transformation of German medium-sized companies.
Microsoft believes that its "deep expertise" with regards to data protection puts it in a suitable position to empower more German cloud-adopters through this move.
