Microsoft Health app now available in the UK, ahead of Band launch

A couple of weeks back, Microsoft announced that the United Kingdom would be the first market outside of the US in which it would launch its new wearable device, the Band. With pre-orders for the Band already open in the UK, and its arrival there now less than two weeks away, the company has taken the next step towards its British launch.

As Windows Central reports, the Microsoft Health app is now available for Windows Phone 8.1 in the UK. Microsoft Health is more than just a companion phone app for the Band; it’s also a growing platform for all of your health- and fitness-related data, and it’s compatible with other devices too, such as the UP by Jawbone.

Coinciding with the app"s UK release, Microsoft has also updated it with various bug fixes, which are available for those already using it in the United States as well.

The Band will be generally available in the UK on April 15, and is priced at £169.99. In the meantime, you can download the Microsoft Health app from the Windows Phone Store in the UK right now.
