Microsoft is finally issuing a fix for the issue that was preventing the Band 2 from syncing

If you use Microsoft"s Band line of fitness wearables, you"ve probably noticed that there"s been an issue that prevents it from syncing with the company"s Health service. In fact, it"s been broken for over a week.

According to a statement that the firm offered to ZDNet"s Mary Jo Foley, it"s finally deploying a fix now:

"We believe we have identified the root cause facing some Microsoft Band 2 customers who cannot connect to the service. We are actively deploying a fix now. This will not require action on behalf of the affected customers. We will continue to update customers as we know more. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this. Thank you."

It"s unclear what Microsoft means when it says that it will update customers when it knows more, being that it"s already issuing the update. The company didn"t elaborate as to what the current unknowns are.

The Band 2 will be two years old in October, but Microsoft stopped selling it 10 months ago, discontinuing its lineup of wearables and abandoning attempts to put Windows 10 on a future Band 3. The company promised to "continue to invest in the Microsoft Health platform", despite the fact that it had renamed the app to Microsoft Band just a few weeks before.

And since then, there"s been no news of the Health service, and the fact that this issue went a week without being addressed goes to show that there"s not much attention being paid to it at all.
