Microsoft is giving away Kinect Party for free until the end of 2012

Everyone likes something for free, and today Microsoft is offering a brand new downloadable game for its Xbox 360 console for that exact price, at least for the moment. The game is Kinect Party and you can download it via Xbox Live right now.

The game, which also requires the Kinect add-on, comes from developer Double Fine and is actually a follow up to a previous game, Double Fine Happy Action Theater. The sequel, which has a duller but also shorter title, is basically designed to be kind of a goofy all ages game that"s fun to play with lots of people around.

The official description says:

Transform your living room into the ultimate Kinect Party! Immerse yourself and up to 6 friends in this augmented reality playground as Kinect Party presents 36 mind-bending channels - each overflowing with outrageously unique, motion-controlled fun. Wield nun chucks, grow fairy wings, dodge hot lava, harness electricity, dig for treasure, launch fireworks, become a fire breathing dragon and more!

There"s no word on what the price for Kinect Party will be when 2013 shows up, so if you already have an Xbox 360 with Kinect, or know you are getting one very soon, you might want to go ahead and download it now.
