Microsoft is surprising Xbox One X owners with a free digital 4K movie

It has been a few weeks since the release of the Xbox One X and it looks like Microsoft wants to show its appreciation to those that purchased the console in the first stretch by giving away a 4K movie.

While it is unclear what the criteria is exactly to get this movie for free, Microsoft has been giving away a free digital copy of The Lego Batman Movie in 4K. This has been confirmed by numerous people on the internet and comes in the form of a code via Xbox Live Messages. This must be quite a treat and a nice surprise for owners of the Xbox One X.

Unfortunately, like stated prior, it is uncertain as to criteria must be satisfied in order to receive a movie code, aside from owning an Xbox One X, but hopefully, this will roll out to more people in the coming months, as the code is set to expire at the end of March. Of course, people have the choice as to whether or not they redeem the free content for themselves in contrast to the approach Apple took when it thrust U2"s "Songs of Innocence" album upon millions of iTunes users as a compulsory download.

The Xbox One X is currently available for $499 from various retailers.
