Microsoft launches Bing app for Firefox OS, main site optimized for movie show times

Microsoft continues to be quite busy on the Bing front, especially on supporting more platforms. A few days ago it released a new version of its Android app. Today, the company announced the debut of the Bing app made for owners of smartphones that run Mozilla"s Firefox OS.

The official Bing blog says that the app, which lets Firefox OS users search on Bing without using a web browser, is now available for download from the Firefox Marketplace, It apparently even lets users join Bing Rewards if they are in the U.S.

The blog also mentions a new version of the Bing Desktop that is now available for download. It adds an option for the Bing Desktop image of the day feature that "sets the categories you want to sync and the frequency with which they change.". Also, desktop images can now be shared with others via Facebook and Twitter.

Finally, the main Bing.com page now lets users who want to find the times and locations of movies in their area see those results immediately on the top of the search results page, without having to click through to a movie theater website.
